Poised at Auckland's waterfront is a premiere commercial tower seated within the great sparkling abundance of the Waitemata Harbour. The sleek glass facade stands as a beacon from the water, further defined by the structure designed as a lattice that resembles the tukutuku patterns on traditional meeting houses developed by the prominent Maori culture. Downtown had not seen development in over a decade until 2012 when Precinct Properties embarked on transforming the Central Business District. The site presented prominent features such as sub-grade transportation infrastructure, a corner position, a connection to existing retail, and the larger business district to the south. This project set out to get Auckland’s heart beating once again as the place for commerce and trade, alive and kicking twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. The 41-floor tower and retail precinct opened in June of 2020.
